The lower priced no serial number Greco Les Paul and SG models were made by Cor-Tek (Cort) and usually have Cor-Tek (Cort) potentiometers.The Cor-Tek made Greco guitars have square shaped, brick like nuts with no slope and also often have shielding paint in the pickup and control cavities.Other higher priced no serial Greco Les Paul and SG models were made by Tkai and the Les Paul models have an EG-75 or EGC-75 model number stamped in the pickup cavity and sometimes have fret edge binding.
![]() Guitar Values By Serial Number GrecoThe no serial Greco guitars made by Tokai have square shaped routing holes at the bottom of the pickup cavities whereas the no serial Greco guitars made by Cor-Tek (Cort) have thinner rectangle shaped routing holes at the bottom of the pickup cavities. Kanda Shokai stopped using the open book headstock design on Greco Gibson replica models around the early 1990s and then concentrated on their other model lines and Fender Japan. Atlansia have supplied body and neck parts for Greco models as well. Tokai currently make the Kanda Shokai Zemaitis and Talbo models. The serial numbers were used for inventory purposes and were assigned in ascending order. R for rosewood, M for mahogany and the number denoting the grade of wood, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15. The November 5D6 Bassmans began their serial number run starting with number 0700 through 0783. The 0700 run of serial numbers is a direct extension of the 0600-0660 serial numbers used by Fender upon the previous 5B6 Fender Bassmans. These DL 5D6 Bassmans were serial numbered from 0001 through 0089. It reflects neither character nor soul, nor what we call the self.
